An intriguing and highly collectible late Victorian / Edwardian double Albert pocket watch chain of authentic colonial Australian origin.

The chain features a classic, uniform curb-link design measuring an elegant 41 cm in total length. Suspended from the central jump ring is a matching, original gold T-bar, complemented by dual swivel dog clips at either end.

Indicative of turn-of-the-century Australian colonial craftsmanship, every individual curb link, both dog clips, and the T-bar are stamped

"15ct". However, recent X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis confirms a gold fineness of the chain at just over 12-karat. The clips and T-bar are

15-karat.

Rather than a modern replica, this variance is a textbook, well-documented example of historical

"under-caratting." This chain stands as an authentic, historically significant survivor of early Australian jewellery trade history.

Excellent antique condition overall.

Minor surface wear and micro-scratches consistent with age and careful use. The curb links retain their original uniform shape without stretching. The swivel dog clips function perfectly with strong, crisp spring action. No evidence of modern repairs, alterations, or component marriages.
